Arak

Chateau Kefraya

Château Ksara 1857

Arak has a beguiling aniseed flavour and freshness that cleans the  palate and aids digestion. It is often served as an aperitif and then as  the perfect accompaniment to classic selections of mezze, the array of  tasty dishes with contrasting flavours that is the starting point for  many lunchtime or evening meals. Arak works particularly well with the  mezze melange that will include olives, spices, meat and cheese –  flavours that are sometimes  harder to match with wine.

Chateau Kefraya

Chateau Kefraya

Chateau Kefraya

The Terroir  Kefraya vineyard spreads over 300 hectares of terraced slopes,  1000 meters above the Mediterranean Sea, on the foothills of Mount  Barouk in the Bekaa Valley.

Clay-limestone, clay-chalk as well as  sandy and gravelly soils compose a real mosaic of terroirs. The vines  enjoy an exceptional sun exposure with no irrigation. They are mainly  trellised with a planting density of 4000 vines per hectare and an  average yield limited to 35 hectoliters per hectare.

Chateau Musar

Chateau Kefraya

Chateau Kefraya

mountains, and nestled at 1000m (3,000 feet)  above sea level, the serenely beautiful Bekaa Valley is blessed with 300  days of sunshine a year,

In the winery, ambient yeasts do the work of fermentation. The bare  minimum of sulphur is used and the Chateau Musar Red wines are neither  fined nor filtered.
